The Spirit of Kalamazoo was established in September 2011, in downtown Kalamazoo by Andrew and Kathleen Widner. "We hope to be a downtown destination for the community, offering a fun place to purchase local college apparel and gear, and to enjoy delicious Plainwell Ice Cream." 

The 1,000 square-foot space also boasts 600 square feet of patio next to the parking ramp on Portage Street. "The patio will be a great place to visit with friends and family while enjoying your ice cream. The patio is what convinced us that this space was the perfect location for our new business," said the Widners.
